MOTIVATION – Do you struggle with motivation?

What is the secret to motivation?

what is the secret to motivation?, do you struggle with motivation?

Hey … greetings from Phil Matthew.

Hoping YOU all are having a great time wherever you are in the world. Do YOU struggle with motivation, getting motivated and staying motivated?

What is the secret to motivation?

More about that shortly.

Right now I am thinking about what to say at my nieces 21st in about 4 weeks time, have you ever had to do a speech of some sort or another, some people say they fear it worse than death, what about you?

I can remember back when I was in my twenties, doing my engineering surveying job that I was petrified of speaking in front of a group.

For some reason I was drawn to walk towards it, to want to conquer it in some way or another.

It was certainly outside my comfort zone BUT over the years I have spoken at 21st’s, engagement parties, football clubs, 40th birthdays,
50th birthdays, business functions and funerals.

My toughest engagement was speaking at my dads funeral.

I first started thinking about the issue of my fears when I was in my mid twenties.

My friend Tony had just gotten into Amway and gave me a book called “The Magic Of Thinking Big”.

The one thing I can remember about that book was this.

It stated that ACTION cures FEAR.

It talked about the idea of attacking your fears.

What do you think… seems simple, don’t you think?

On the surface I have found it to be a correct statement and has definitely worked for me HOWEVER….

It does require a deeper investigation.

YOU need to investigate yourself, your past and ask yourself why you think you struggle with motivation and getting outside your comfort zone.

WARNING… this type of work is tough!

It’s tough because you have to dig deeper than the surface level of life.

Tom decided he wanted to do something outside his comfort zone, click on the image to watch someone shitting their pants.

Some people say that “some people are just lazy”

In my opinion I don’t think there are any lazy people, I just think there are a stack of unmotivated people.

It’s a real catch 22.

What comes first the chicken or the egg?

What comes first, having something to be motivated about or just putting in action?

In the end, if you don’t get serious about how you want your life to turn out then it has a way of leading to mediocrity.

On the other hand the people who take “ACTION” will get a result.

So I believe the secret to motivation is twofold, I think it’s about desire first, about having a goal and then acting on that goal in some way.
