Mark Zuckerberg pushes back

I can remember going to an internet marketing seminar back in 2008 and one of the speakers warned us Facebook. He said that just be aware that once you post an image from your personal library, they now own it to use as they please. So here we are 10 years later and the plot thickens. In this article on page 16 in the Herald Sun on Friday December 07th, 2018 the allegation vented is now a runaway train, read on.

FACEBOOK DENIES SELLING US OUT

FACEBOOK chief Mark Zuckerberg has pushed back against emails showing the social media giant offering Netflix and other popular apps preferential access to people’s data even after it had tightened its privacy rules.

A British parliamentary committee investigating if Facebook was used to manipulate the results of elections published internal documents yesterday. They show executives discussing Netflix and others getting access to user data even after Facebook’s 2014-15 tightening of its privacy rules. Mr Zuckerberg featured in one email exchange from 2012 where he mulled selling information to developers.

“Like any organisation, we had a lot of internal discussion and people raised different ideas,” he posted on Facebook. He did not directly address Facebook’s apparent decision to provide access to friends lists and private information.
