How To Use Entrepreneur Training
Transform Your Life
Here’s what I am pondering today, is the issue of mindset and head space
an old age thing of the past or is it still relevant in todays instant
I have always thought that your head space, your mindset can make you or
break you and your past, your environment and your genes has a lot to do
with that head space.
The good news is that mindset can be changed, altered, transformed by
dealing with your past and becoming aware of your environment and how it
affects you, and understanding that your genes are here to stay.
As an example I grew up in an environment which was positive,
encouraging and all the fundamentals were on the table like food,
shelter, clothes and education.
However my parents were brought up in the war years which affected
them and consequently some of their thinking patterns were passed
down too me.
They were very good at improvising, they tended to not want to throw
things out because they would always say “you never know when you might
need this or that”.
They built their house with cash as going into debt in the 1950’s was
not the way average people did things in those days.
Getting a good education and a good job and working for the government
was a secure thing to do.
So for me I had to become aware of what was going on and set about to
change some of these environmental factors in my upbringing.
I had to work through the get a good safe secure job idea to eventually
start working as a self-employed commission only sales agent and that
was a 20 year process.
I had to decide that I didn’t want a house full of stuff that just
accumulates over the years, I decided I wanted to travel light and not
get too attached to material possessions.
I decided it was ok to go into debt providing the debt was servicing
I had to get used too and practise the idea of learning to take risks.
When I was a young boy one of the things my dad used to tell me was
that I was a careful boy.
You know the saying “take care”, “be careful” and that is something
I had to turn around, something I had to leave behind.
That process of working through my past took many years and many actions
and today I would say to my kids “take a risk and calculate it”,
“be aware of your attachments, you don’t need much”.
The point here is that entrepreneurs take risks without guarantees,
instead they back themselves and their judgement.
They seek out people and relationships and build teams.
They look at whats been done, who’s successful and how they did it and
then come up with their own ideas or make old ideas faster easier and
better, faster and more profitable.
In return for a healthy mindset and a risk taking mentality there can
be great rewards in terms of your own growth, your relationships and
the amount of money you have in your life.
Over the years I have been involved with a number of free wheeling
entrepreneurs who have all taught me a lot.
The best ones don’t shy away from the reality that work and sacrifice
In a nutshell, just ask yourself this question “do you want to pay now
and play later or do you want to lay now and pay later”?
That’s my observation this week,
