Online Business Owners
What do you do when you sit down at the computer and try to write a blog post, Facebook update, or stand in front of a video camera, your on a deadline and nothing, absolutely nothing comes to you?
A. Walk away because it really doesn’t matter if you meet your commitment. Even though you have promoted the fact that you will deliver “XYZ” on a certain day.
B. Put up CRAP for your readers and viewers. You’ve meet the deadline, but have you met one of the other key performance indicators (hopefully you have set yourself), and that is you will deliver quality.
C. Tell it like it is. Use it as a learning, growing experience, ensuring the quality is there for all to see.

One of the challenges we all face as an online business owners is just how much we tell our readers and viewers. We don’t want to scare them away, we want them to see the bigger picture of what we have to offer, (whether it be a product or idea). Do we need to put on a smoke and mirror show, build their expectations, knowing they will be let down. Or do we tell them the whole story, without the bells and whistles, and then let them make up their own minds without undue influence.
I say, (and it’s only my opinion), that we tell it to them straight, without the fluff. As a result they will get to know you and like you and that will build trust. So whether that person is a potential customer or partner in your business, they need to be treated with the respect they deserve.
Make no bones about this, as online business owners, we are in business to make money, but let’s ensure we do it with honesty and integrity.
Well that’s my say for today, would like to know what you think!
